Hi All,
I have been fighting off the flu and feeling miserable. But today, I received a happy pick me up in the mail, an advanced copy of the new Dogs USA, 25th Anniversary, Collector's Edition magazine. What an amazing feeling to see one of my photos in a national publication! And that's it's an image of Cassidy Ann, makes it even sweeter!
The edition of this magazine will be on newsstands, nationwide in a few short weeks. You can pick up a copy at Barnes and Noble, Borders, Pet Smart and Benson's.

Hi All!
I met up with Jenn and her adorable daughter Chloe in Saratoga for some family portraits. I think it's incredibly important to document your family. We had a lot of laughs and even made up a "poopy" dance to entertain Chloe. She is such a ham!

There was some dog do-do near Chloe. There is where we implemented the poopy dance. "Oh no, poopy, it's stinky!" It totally worked, look at that face! I really will do anything to get the shot!

Stephanie and Adam elope at Erlowest: 9.20.09

Hi All,
Stephanie and Adam eloped in Lake George at the beautiful Inn at Erlowest. I was truly honored to be a part of such an intimate event. It was just Stephanie and Adam, their two closest friends,myself and my husband Pete, whom officiated. They wanted to focus their time on portraits, needless to say, I was thrilled! We went to the top of Prospect mountain and then back to Erlowest for more photos. Stephanie and Adam invited us to join them for a 5 course tasting prepared by awarding winning Chef Mike. The food was amazing!

Here is a little more about their wedding in Stephanie's own words: "Adam and I both knew that our dream wedding involved beautiful mountain scenery, being an active couple who love the outdoor playground the Adirondacks provide. We are a couple of young professionals who did not meet in a traditional manner and certainly did not want to get caught up in the "traditions" of a typical wedding. Thus, having our "elopement" at the Inn at Erlowest made our day so romantic and whimsical! We knew that nature is our place of worship-where we feel most spiritually connected. Who romantically runs away and gets married anymore in an old Victorian castle on a lake in the most gorgeous mountain ranges in this part of the world?? WE DID & wouldn't have chosen to do it any other way!!"

Hi All,
Yuka and Tim had a very small, intimate ceremony at The Saratoga State Park. They only wanted the ceremony covered and a few portraits. They called about 2 months before their wedding. I had their date available, so I was more than happy to photograph their wedding!
Yuka's family flew in from Japan. Did you know it takes 4-5 hours of prep time for the formal Kimono attire look to be complete? Yuka's mother and her sisters looked so beautiful in their Kimonos. And Yuka, of course was a truly stunning bride, as you can see...

I just found out that my rescue corgi, Cassidy Ann, will be in featured in Dogs USA magazine! It will hit newsstands nationwide late November, early December. This is my first national publication and I could not be more thrilled that it's a photo of one of my girls! Pete and I will be celebrating with a nice dinner out tonight and of course Cassidy will get a special treat today!

Hi All!
Missy and Josh have been together for 12 years. They didn't want a big wedding. However, they did want to wait until 9.9.09 to get married at 9 a.m. This also happens to be my parents wedding anniversary, therefore this day was very meaningful to me. So, on their beautiful farm property in Amsterdam, they said their brief I do's in front of immediate family. Missy told me she wanted really beautiful portraits. Missy, I hope I delivered.

Jess & Stuart, A Sunday Drive....

You may recognize Stuart and Jess from their infamous cow pasture engagement shoot! They got married September 6th and what a wedding!
I asked Jess to tell their story. I think it's much more meaningful to hear a couple's story in their own words....

So...in Jess's own words....

Our Sunday Drive – Sunday, September 6, 2009
"When Stuart and I were first introduced, he was too busy for a date. It was October in upstate New York and Stuart is a dairy farmer, which means he works from sun up to sun down harvesting the more than 700 acres of corn that he and his family grow for their 1,000 milk cows.

Growing up on a dairy farm myself, I understood the lifestyle. In fact, that’s what drew us to each other – our passion for agriculture, but also our appreciation for the simple things in life. So when Stuart asked me to marry him two and a half years later, I wasn’t going to wait for corn again. Instead, we incorporated it into our wedding, along with all the other simple things we enjoy, and got married this past Labor Day weekend, just before the annual ritual of corn harvest.

Sunday is considered a day of rest in Stuart’s family, which means they only work six hours in comparison to their normal 14. So naturally, Sunday is our day together and many are spent driving around the back roads of rural Washington County. Stuart scouts corn and hay fields, and I scout for ice cream and antiques. One day we found our perfect antique – a 1956 International pickup truck with the original paint. We offered to buy it, but the owner wasn’t selling; however he did offer us to borrow the truck for our wedding, which quickly turned into the theme for our wedding – A Sunday Drive. We featured the red truck prominently on our invitations and it played a critical role in delivering me to the site that I would say “I do.”

We got married at The Historic Barns at Nipmoose in Buskirk, New York – one of the first places Stuart ever brought me on our infamous Sunday drives. The owner of the barns rents her land to Stuart’s family and she had just restored these two beautiful and majestic buildings. Dating back to the early 1700’s, these barns sit atop a hill, overlooking the productive lands of the Hoosic River valley. Stuart and I both admitted months later, that it was at that moment, we knew we’d be married there on that hill.

The sheer presence of the barns is one not to compete with. So rather than traditional décor made of imported flowers, Gardenworks of Salem helped us choose native, mile-high corn stalks with golden tassels and yellow ears busting out of their husks instead. We complimented the corn with sunflowers and black-eyed susans, tired from a long summer and added to them fresh fall mums and greens picked from along the road. Displays were made using as many old milk cans, canning jars and antique knick-knacks as we could round up.

For dinner, we munched on our favorite – cheeseburgers! (Remember, we like simple.) Longfellows out of Saratoga did a phenomenal job of listening to our every desire and delivered – all the way to Buskirk. We wanted country, yet classy. With 275 people at the reception, we couldn’t afford fancy, even if that’s what we wanted. Instead, our guests enjoyed hand-packed burgers grilled to perfection with an assortment of toppings, mac-n-cheese, a variety of summer salads, yummy baked beans and what else, but locally grown corn on the cob. As the evening cooled off, piping hot apple crisp served with whipped cream was a crowd pleaser.

As much thought that was put into the reception, equal energy was spent on the ceremony. We wanted our guests to feel the excitement and passion we shared for each other that day and to do so, we chose to use untraditional music and wrote personalized vows for the ceremony. As a 36-year old, first-time bride, I walked down the aisle to Etta James’ “At Last” and we left to the fun-loving “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles. Stuart and I read vows written for each other that surprisingly each included a quip from our favorite TV show, declaring “Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t Lose.” Guests were also included in the ceremony when a friend read a responsive prayer, asking the audience to recite “Bless this Day.” And in lieu of favors, we made a contribution to our local land conservancy group, the Agricultural Stewardship Association, that protects farmland from development so that the spectacular vista we enjoyed on our wedding day could be preserved for generations to come.

With the exchange of two metal bands, Stuart and I experienced the Sunday drive of a lifetime. We were able to connect friends and family from across the aisle and across the country, honor our rural landscape and heritage, support fellow local farmers by serving their products, and declare our love and commitment to each other with the people that we love. And we danced! We danced until we couldn’t dance any more! It was a great day! And it was all documented by our talented and passionate photographer Tracey Buyce who effortlessly captured every moment and emotion perfectly."

A tribute to my mother...

I have thought long and hard about this post and whether or not I would share it. But, today holds such significance in my life. On September 29, 2007, I was shooting at a wedding while my mother was dying.

My mother, Sylvia, is the reason why I chose to go into professional photography full-time. Her sudden departure helped me realize how your world can change in a fraction of time. The last thing I ever imagined was to experience the loss of my mother at such a young age. My mother suffered a sudden, unexpected, massive heart attack. She was only 67 and I was only 34, the landscape of my life had just changed, dramatically.

At the time of her death, I was working full-time with adults with traumatic brain injury, going to grad school full-time for a master’s degree in mental health counseling and shooting weddings on the weekends. Her death helped me realize that your life can change without any notice and that I should fulfill my dreams and pursue photography full-time.

So with my Mom in my heart, I took the plunge into a small business. I have no regrets, I love being a photographer. I feel so fortunate to have a job that I love with such wonderful clients. My mother used to call me the night before every wedding I photographed to wish me good luck and tell me how much she loved me. She was so very proud.

My mother was the person that lit up a room when she walked in, the whole energy of the room changed. Someone could be having the worst day and my mother would find a way to make them smile, either through the genuineness of who she was, or her infectious laugh.

You are not given a choice when someone you love dies and that really sucks. My Mom never had the opportunity to meet my amazing, husband Pete. I have learned to not take anything for granted, even the smallest things.
Today, I ask something of you; let your Mother know how much you love her.

This next part is a tribute to my mom…. I love you…

You are an incredibly, amazing woman that is my mother: magnetic, nurturing, hilarious, beautiful, vibrant, compassionate, charismatic, and most of all loving

You are the mother that loves her children with such fierce passion

You are the Mom who let Brad egg crate the garage and turn it into his sound stage, because he thought he was a rock star

You are the Mom that thought it was great when Andy webbed the entire staircase with all of your yarn, because he is Spider Man

You are the Mom that put your daughters through countless beauty pageants
Stephanie could not have been more mortified when she was crowned Miss Fulton County Teenager, but you were elated. You made it up to her though, by being such a wonderful Nonie to her two beautiful boys

I, on the other hand, loved all the beauty pageants and wore my Little Miss Sunshine crown with honor. You always let me know how much I was loved.

You are the mother who let me read my long, boring, college papers to your over the phone, I can’t tell you how much that meant to me

You are the mom that made green cakes on St. Patrick’s Day and signed the presents from Santa in your own handwriting

You are the Mom that left us snickers bars under our pillow when one of us lost a tooth, but scolded us if we forgot to brush our teeth

You are the Mom who brushed our hair and tickled out backs while we watched Love Boat and Fantasy Island, our Saturday night ritual

You are the Mom who took us to the beach everyday in the summer. I can close my eyes and still smell the sweet goodness of your Bain de Soleil orange suntan gel

You are the mother that we were so fortunate to have.

I will not think of you in death, but in the life you breathed into each one of you children, I know you are so proud

You gave us all such an incredible gift. You gave us the courage and ability to be fearless and embrace our individuality.

You allowed us figure out who we are without restrictions, with an open heart, an open mind

The memories of you are endless and you will always be with us, that’s your beauty.

Dad has always said that Brian is the angel that sits on his shoulder. He talks to him every day.

You are my angel…

There is a brightness that burns inside me, thank you Mom, for all your love……

Amanda and David get married in Poughkeepsie: 9.4.09

Hi All!
Amanda and David were married the Friday of Labor Day weekend, at The Grand View in Poughkeepsie, NY. They have a beautiful, 6 month old baby girl, Layla. She wore a blue dress for Amanda's "something blue."
We went to the Poughkeepsie train station for their portraits. We literally only had 10 minutes! I am very happy with these images, that's why there are so many in this post. Don't worry, they are plenty of candid moments too!

I photographed Amanda and Matt's wedding at Saratoga National, last year, 9.19.08. I was thrilled when they wanted to get together for a 1 year anniversary shoot. I love seeing my clients again and catching up. We went to Troy to give their anniversary photos a bit of an Urban touch. They are both very comfortable being photographed, which made my job easy! I will be photographing Amanda's sister, Cori's, wedding next July!

Gretchen & Lawrence:engagement session

Hi All!
Gretchen and Lawrence have a wedding planned for May 22,2010. We got together for their engagement photos at Saratoga State Park with their 2 Golden Retrievers, Jebediah, and retired seeing eye dog, Xek. I was pretty excited to smooch and hugs the dogs. That was until I found out Jebediah and Xek decided to get after a skunk the night before! Gretchen and Lawrence were troopers and dealt with the tomato juice/skunk smell through the engagement session.

Wyatt is the man!

Well little man....
Wyatt is my friend, Mo's, adorable son. And boy is he cute! I was photographing a wedding last Summer on the same day of Mo's baby shower. So I thought, what could I get her to make up for missing her baby shower, maybe an uber cool diaper cake or better yet, powder blue bibs and matching booties, NO WAY! I gave Mo the gift of custom photography for her beautiful boy. It took us a year to coordinate our schedules, but we finally did it! Wyatt is an animated, super friendly baby, with the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen! Scout the dog joined the shoot too. We were missing Wyatt's Dad, Billy, he was back in Boston working.

Mo and Billy are expecting baby number 2 in December, congrats!

Carly and Sean and are huge animal lovers, their bridal party too. In fact, everyone in the bridal party has a dog!
They had a beautiful wedding at the Silver Bay YMCA. They read poems to each other instead of traditional vows and were game for all photos. Carly is an amateur photographer and her pet photos adorned each table. She is quite good! Everyone had a fantastic time and there were no complaints about the heat and humidity!

Carly and Sean: To stay with the wedding theme of poems, a line Kahil Gibran's famous poem, On Marriage, "You were born together, and together you shall be for evermore....but let there be spaces in your togetherness. And let the winds of the heavens dance between you."

Hi All,
As you know from previous posts, I head up to Northwoods Lodge any chance I get it. I cannot say enough about the peace and tranquility it brings. My last visit was in early August, a week's vacation! Of course, I had to sneak in a photo session. The subjects, my cousin Carey, her husband Bill, their children, Noah and Ally and Maverick and Chelsie---the dogs.
Noah is a huge dog fan and over the course of the week became very attached to my Cassidy. We had a built in dog walker! Pete suggested they take her home, not a chance!

I found it fitting to post this engagement session today, on the eve of Traver's, one of the biggest horse races of the season.

Kia and Geoff are a really great couple! They were treated like mini celebrities the day we photographed their engagement session at the track. Everyone loves a wedding and track goers were very accommodating so we could get some fun shots.

Hi All!
Bruce Springsteen was at SPAC last night and boy did he deliver, the concert was AMAZING! I had just finished the rough draft of this blog post right before Pete and I left the house to see the show. About 40 minutes later, in the midst of 30,000 people at SPAC, we run into Lauren and Bill, not once, but twice! Needless to say, it was great to see them both. So Lauren and Bill, here is today's blog post I promised.

Bill and Lauren were married 8.1.09, on Bill's family's land, in Cooperstown, NY. A great deal of hard work and effort went into making their wedding day vision a reality. Their dedication paid off, they had beautiful weather, an awesome bridal party, 2 bands, and lots of laughter!

Hi All!

Last week, I took a much needed vacation to Northwoods Lodge, our family's place in Lake Pleasant, NY. I am back, well rested, and ready for the second half of wedding season!!!

I have several fun shoots to share: two engagement sessions, both with the couple's dogs stealing the show, a very special Northwoods Lodge family session, and a very sexy, urban anniversary shoot.

Beth and Lawson tie the knot at The Sagamore....

Beth and Lawson were married 7.25.09 at The Sagamore Resort in Lake George, N.Y., the same weekend NBC's, The Today Show, was setting up to broadcast live that Monday. So need lees to say, The Sagamore was buzzing with activity from NBC film crews to summer tourists. Beth and Lawson weren't phased by all the activity around them. They were happy to share their wedding day with a small group of family and friends. The whole day was detailed oriented, thanks to Beth and Shannon from Wedding Planning Plus. From Beth's uncle who officiated a beautiful outdoor ceremony to the breathtakingly beautiful reception. David from Renaissance Floral Design blew everyone away with his talent. A long elegant table was set for 36 guests, simply stunning!

Hi All!
I love it when a bride wants to get together before her wedding for a bridal session! Not only is it an opportunity to do a trial run with full hair, make-up and of course, the dress, it's also a great time to make artistic, beautiful imagery!

As I mentioned before, Jessica will be getting married in Texas 1.2.10. I am honored and thrilled to be traveling to Texas to shoot her wedding. I love the 50's, Grace Kelly feel to Jess's bridal look.

Hi All,
This is a very special post, with lots of images. My brother got married in June, to my now sister, Kristen! They are an amazing couple! They are both super funny, they are also dorks and I couldn't possibly love them more!

There are four siblings in my family and Andy and I are only 2 years a part. Andy was my best friend growing up and my arch nemesis. He would tickle me until I wet my pants, lock me out of the house in the middle of winter if I dared to sing Poison songs, he would let his friends give me wedgies, and he carved my initials in the piano to try and get me in trouble. But, he was also the brother who protected me all through out high school and threw a certain boy up against a locker when he teased me.

Andy was the last of the four to get married. I am glad he waited, because he met the love of his life. He told me as much after the first time he saw her. This is huge, since Andy is not one to wear his heart on his sleeve.
The first time I met Kristen, we giggled about having the same skirt on and quickly became great friends.

After dating for two years, on a cold, February afternoon, on The Ring of Kerry in Ireland, Andy proposed to Kristen. Fourteen months later, on a warm, Saturday in June, overlooking Lake George,they were married!!!

The day after the wedding, we did a Trash the Dress session in Lake George. Kristen and I were of course pumped to do this shoot, Andy not so much! Therefore, lots of pictures of Kristen and a few of Andy, per his request.

Happy Birthday July babies!

Hi All!
Today is my birthday and I love birthdays! My mother instilled a love of birthdays in my siblings and I at a very young age. We didn't just celebrate for a day, we had a whole birthday week! We would pack up and go to Northampton Beach everyday. My brother Andy and I would swim, build sand castles, make new friends, and of course fight and then I would tell on him! Sorry Andy! We would also get whatever our little hearts desired from Camper's Last Stop, this usually involved large amounts Swedish Fish and Snicker bars. My Dad would come to the beach after work and we would eat Cristiano's pizza and tell him all about our day at the beach. Per my request, my Mom would get me a Price Chopper chocolate cake. Seriously, I used to love those cakes! I thank my Mom for always making me feel so special on my birthday.

Today will be a birthday filled with all my favorite things:my fabulous husband Pete, incredible family and friends, Bread Basket cupcakes, champagne, king crabs legs

Hi All!
As most of you know I love animals, dogs in particular. On Monday, I submitted a CD of dog images to Dog Fancy magazine. I knew it could be months before I heard anything back or I may never hear anything. This is how it works with photo submissions. But, I figured it was worth a chance. Imagine my surprise and elation when I received an email from the Assistant Editor yesterday! Dog Fancy magazine asked me to be an ongoing contributing photographer!!! Ya--hooooo!!!!!
I could not be more thrilled, surprised, happy, overwhelmed and ecstatic.

As my mother-in-law Miriam said when I told her the news: "Your love for animals and photography have joined together." Followed with a "that's wonderful news dear."

So to celebrate, I am taking 10% off dog portrait shoots for the month of August, just mention this blog post!

Every summer for as long as I can remember, my family has spent our summers at our lodge in Lake Pleasant, NY. The lodge itself is over 100 years old and it's filled with taxidermy, including an owl dangling from the ceiling with a once innocent squirrel clutched in it's talons. When I was little, I would run past the owl in fear, now it's just creepy. There is also a African spider monkey, I fondly named Marty the Monkey. I know, how did an African spider monkey find his way into an Adirondack lodge!

The few free weekends I have each summer, Pete and I load up the dogs and head to the lodge. We absolutely love the lodge......

So Happy 4th of July!!!!

I first met Lauren and Bill last winter when I photographed Camille and Michael's wedding in Saratoga. About a month later, Lauren and Bill booked me for their own wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Parodi were married at The Siena Chapel on Saturday May 24, 2009, with a reception that followed at The Desmond. After their wedding, Kathleen and John traveled to Ireland to have their marriage blessed and for their honeymoon.

A little information about that fabulous bird cage veil: The top part of the headpiece was made with lace from Kathleen's mothers wedding dress, as well as flowers and netting from her parents cake topper and in the center, was a carved ivory bead from Kathleen's maternal great-grandmother's rosary. In Kathleen's words: "It was my something old and it was so very special to me as I am so proud of the strong wonderful women who have come before me."

I met Rene and Eric at the Well Wed magazine N.Y. Wedding Affair at The Canfield Casino this winter. Rene and Eric won the engagement session I donated to benefit The Make A Wish Foundation. Thank you Rene and Eric for donating to this charity!

Rene and Eric are a great couple. We had a relaxed, fun e-session at Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga. They are getting married next May at Albany Country Club.

Hi met with Jess and Stuart at their farmhouse in Cambridge. Words cannot describe how beautiful the setting is at their farm. Their wedding will be right down the road at an equally gorgeous setting.

Stuart and Jess a very cool, down to earth couple. Jess is planning most of the wedding herself, right down to mason jars with wild flowers on each table. Stuart is a dairy farmer. Their farms milk goes to Cabot, my favorite cheese! So not only was I looking forward to photographing Jess and Stuart, but the cows as well. The cows in these images are only 5 month's old, so cute!

And of course, their 14 year old German Shepperd, Hootie. Hootie loves the camera! Seriously, he was following me around waiting for me to point the camera in his direction!

This past Saturday I met Kaitlin and her family at Yaddo Gardens in Saratoga. Kaitlin and her mom, Becky, are the recipients of the "Giving Back" portrait session. Kaitlin is a sweet, beautiful little girl. We had a great time watching and documenting Kaitlin exploring Yaddo Gardens. She LOVED the fountains, the flowers, the various gardens, the statues, everything! I have been to Yaddo several times, but being there with Kaitlin as she smelled the flowers and explored every nook and cranny, lends a deeper appreciation for not only the beauty of nature, but of life.
Kaitlin and her family are in my thoughts and prayers, I hope they are in yours too....

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time out of their busy lives to nominate someone special in their lives. I received many entries, all beautiful, amazing stories.
The family to receive the portrait session is Becky and her beautiful daughter Kaitlin Bowman. Becky and I talked on the phone last night and she told me all about her little girl. 4 year old Kaitlin is a happy, adventurous, inquisitive child who loves life. I am truly honored to photograph Becky and Kaitlin. It's difficult to put into words the empathy I feel for this family. So with Becky's permission, read their story through the nomination letter her Aunt Debra wrote....

"I opened the Saratogian this morning, saw your piece "Local Photographer to Donate Services," and for a moment the dark cloud passed and I felt there was something uplifting that I could do for my niece and her daughter.

My niece, Rebecca Bowman, 24, is the mother of Kaitlin Marie, an absolutely adorable, sweet, soon to be 4-year-old little girl whose world took a terrible turn on April 24 with a diagnosis of late infantile neural ceroid lipofushinosis:

It brings tear to my eyes to say the words, but how wonderful it would be to capture her spirit and beauty before the disease begins to take its toll. What a treasure it would be for everyone in the family but especially for her mom who I am proud to say already is trying to push through the devastation and search for any possible treatment, etc.

Becky and Kaitlin's father are divorced and he resides in San Diego, California so she truly is a single mother who already had her hands full supporting the two of them, etc. She literally labors at a distribution warehouse and the phrase "extra money" isn't a part of her vocabulary but she will find the money for whatever Kaitlin's coming needs will be (most immediately a visit to a specialist out of state). Photography would never make the list of financial priorities concerning Kaitlin but, again, how wonderful it would be !

I visited our web site and thought your shots to be stunning which made me all the more excited about this possibility. I am a huge fan of photography -- its value in capturing loved ones, etc.

Kaitlin is a happy little girl who is full of life and will win your heart. If you were to select her to be your subject, the photos would be precious in more ways than one.

Late Infantile NCL (Jansky-Bielschowsky disease, LINCL, CLN2) begins between ages 2 and 4. The typical early signs are loss of muscle coordination (ataxia) and seizures along with progressive mental deterioration, though afflicted children may show mild-severe delays in speech development well before other symptoms appear. This form progresses rapidly and ends in death between ages 8 and 12.

Saratoga's Dog Day and The Busy Bone 500!!!

As most of you know, I love, love, love dogs! The past two Saturdays I had a great time supporting the dogs! Last week, I had the pleasure of taking pet photos for Saratoga's Dog Day at Impressions of Saratoga (http://www.impressionssaratoga.com/). Many, many thanks to Kimmy, Mare, and the rest of the staff!

This Saturday I took pet photos as well. This time for the Busy Bones 500, to benefit The Saratoga County Animal Shelter. A big thanks to Dan, Carroll, Diane, Annie, and the rest of the staff and volunteers!

A portion of the proceeds from the pet photos were donated to: The Saratoga County Animal Shelter, H.O.P.E. and Safe Pet Partnership.

Cliff Mautner Workshop-the images and what I learned...

Cliff Mautner has been named one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world. I love to learn and grow as a photographer. This workshop expanded my knowledge and skills in several different areas of photography, from technical to composition to flash and video light. Cliff is renowned for his skills with natural light. He works the light like no photographer I have ever seen! We received instruction on how to use harsh mid-day sun to our advantage and then went off to make our own images. Here's what I created. The first few images are from a penitentiary in Philly and the last of the images are from a gorgeous park in Philly as well. The penitentiary was very cool experience.

Saratoga's Dog Day is this coming Saturday, May 2nd. I will be photographing dogs from 11-4p.m. at Impressions of Saratoga, 368 Broadway. It's for a good cause, with part of the proceeds going to a local dog charity. So stop by and say Hi! I would love to meet your dog and give em' a hug! And take his photo, of course!

Roselee and Wade's engagement shoot!

Roselee and Wade live in Pennsylvania, but have a love for the Adirondacks. In fact, it was on a hiking trail in the Adirondacks that Wade proposed to Roselee. Even their adorable puppy they adopted from a rescue is named Dacks (get it...Adirondacks, so cute!). They are very down to earth and wonderful people. They are getting married this Fall at The Boathouse in Lake George.

Spring is here!!!! I am getting in shape before wedding season hits next month. I met Monique a few months ago. She is a Holistic Nutritionist and Personal Trainer/ Fitness Consultant. She is also super friendly and knows her stuff!
Monique's Spring boot camp starts in a few short weeks at The Saratoga State Park. It runs for 8 weeks, 3x per week. I am already signed up! I am looking forward to getting in shape. I am a little scared...but I know it is going to be worth it!

A Tribute to Rudy

Today marks the 1 year anniversary that I lost my beloved Rudy. Lymphoma cancer took him from me, March 7, 2008. It's hard to believe he's been gone a whole year. Rudy was my once in a lifetime dog. My vet, Dr. Clement, told me you only get one. I was incredibly fortunate that mine was Rudy.

Rudy was loyal, lovable, goofy and fun. I learned so much from him. He never got mad if we were stuck in traffic; he simply enjoyed the ride. He was always happy to see me, he would bathe my face with sloppy dog kisses. If I was upset, Rudy didn’t try and fix it or say the right thing, he simply loved. A year and a half ago, Rudy's very presence helped get me through the death of my mom. He never left my side. I thank Rudy for being such a wonderful part of my life for 14 years. He was pure love. Rudy was and always will be, my best friend.

So this post is a tribute to Rudy's life and his love!

So I am christening the new blog with an engagement shoot with the fabulous Jess and Michael! Jess and Michael are Texans attending Albany Law School. They are getting married in Texas next January, but wanted an Upstate N.Y. winter feel to their engagement pictures. We met the day of the shoot and hit it off immediately. They are a great couple and we had a blast going all over Albany, including their Albany Law.

I am thrilled to have my photos from the 2008 Wedding Season featured in Well Wed magazine! I am even more happy for my fabulous clients for having their wedding photos featured! Krista and Bob's wedding received a full feature. They were married June 14, 2008 in Salem, NY. Krista created the entire wedding, right down to baking her own wedding cake and adding details to the hor de vours on the back of the old FORD blue truck! Krista is also a wedding planner!

Hillary and Andre were married August 2, 2008 in Greenwich, NY on her family's farm. Another wedding with attention to detail. They had an old fashioned type writer instead of the traditional guestbook, love it!

Congrats to these amazing couples! It was truly a pleasure to a part of your weddings!

Elevate 4 workshop and photo shoot in Tennessee with Garrett Nudd Photography

In October, I went to Elevate 4, in Chattanooga Tennessee, hosted by Garrett and Joy Nudd. Garrett and Joy photographed my wedding in Switzerland back in June. I love their style of photography, so it made sense to attend their workshop. I learned so much and had a great time photographing, Annette, our model. Elevate 4 taught me so much about myself, my style of photography and my own evolution in photography. It also reaffirmed the importance of the connection you have with your clients and I have to say, I have been very blessed to have such fantastic clients!

I took a trip to Connecticut to visit my friend Gretchen in late October. Gia and Hunter were great throughout the 3 locations we went to for their photo shoot. They are adorable and were fantastic in front of the camera! I can't wait for next years shoot!
